Askat Berleshievich Shakharov

Askat Berleshievich Shakharov is a prominent Kazakh politician and former athlete, currently serving as the Akim (governor) of Aktobe Region since September 5, 2023. He is a distinguished master of sports in Kazakhstan and a three-time world champion in Sambo, as well as a bronze medalist in judo. Shakharov has an academic background with a PhD in economics and has held various governmental positions, including Akim of Aktobe city and several districts.
