Assumpció Malgosa

Assumpció Malgosa is a prominent Spanish biological anthropologist and a professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). With a focus on human osteology and bioarchaeology, she has contributed significantly to the understanding of ancient burial practices and childhood mortality in historical contexts. Recently, she coordinated a groundbreaking study that examined infant burial practices in the Iberian site of Ullastret, challenging previous notions of child sacrifice and highlighting the cultural significance of these burials.
