Augusto Furcal

Sergio Augusto Furcal is a seasoned Dominican lawyer with a 25-year career in the judiciary, formerly serving as the president of the First Collegiate Court of Santiago. He was recently in the news after being arrested for 24 hours during a court hearing, following a disciplinary order from Judge Patricia Padilla, due to allegations of contempt of court. Furcal defended the rights of his client, Colonel Narciso Antonio Féliz Romero, who is accused of leading a criminal network involved in the theft of arms from the National Police. Despite his arrest, Furcal expressed his intention to self-represent and uphold his legal responsibilities.
