Augusto Taveras is a prominent Dominican community leader and entrepreneur who emigrated to New York in 1971. He is recognized for his significant contributions to social welfare through the Fundación Rancheros Unidos, which he established to improve the lives of families in his hometown of Los Ranchos de Babosico. Taveras has donated over 500 fully equipped homes and has been instrumental in the construction of educational, sports, and health facilities, as well as providing scholarships and medical assistance.
