Aurora Rodriguez Carballeira

Aurora Rodriguez Carballeira was a Spanish feminist and socialist born in the late 19th century, who became infamous for her extreme parenting methods. She conceived her daughter, Hildegart, as part of a radical eugenics experiment aimed at creating the 'first free woman in Spain.' Aurora's obsession with controlling Hildegart's life and education culminated in tragedy when, fearing her daughter was developing her own identity, Aurora murdered her in 1933. She was later sentenced to prison and spent her final years in a psychiatric hospital before dying in 1955.
