Ava Cockrum

Ava Cockrum is a student and athlete from the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District who recently gained attention for her outspoken opposition to a California mandate requiring her school to switch sports leagues, which would allow biological male trans athletes to compete in girls' sports. During a school board meeting, she expressed concerns about the safety of longer travel routes through hazardous mountain passes and advocated for the fairness of female athletes competing against biological males.
