Captured in July 1995, Palić was later presumed killed during a forced exchange. His remains were discovered in a mass grave in 2001, and DNA testing confirmed his identity in 2009. Palić is remembered as a symbol of resistance and humanity in one of the darkest periods of Bosnian history.
