Awais Chudhary

Awais Chudhary is a 25-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Pakistan, who was sentenced to nine years in prison for plotting a terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State group. Chudhary was radicalized after consuming violent propaganda for over 16 months and attempted to carry out an attack in Queens, New York, targeting public spaces. His plan involved using a knife or bomb and filming the violence to inspire others. He was apprehended while trying to acquire tactical gear for the attack.
