Axrorjon Niyozov

Axrorjon Niyozov is an environmental inspector in Uzbekistan who was recently in the news for his confrontation with Saidali Xidirov, the deputy mayor of Buvayda district, over illegal tree cutting. Niyozov attempted to document the unlawful activity when he was physically confronted and removed by Xidirov, leading to widespread criticism and calls for accountability from the Environmental Committee of Uzbekistan.
