Ayman Zawahiri was an Egyptian physician and key figure in the global jihadist movement, notably serving as the leader of Al-Qaeda after the death of Osama bin Laden in 2011. He played a significant role in expanding Al-Qaeda's operations and ideology, and was a prominent figure in the planning of terrorist attacks including the September 11 attacks.
