Aymen Mbarki

Aymen Mbarki, born in Tunis in 1983, is a self-taught visual artist known for his innovative works that blend ancient traditions with contemporary themes. His artistic journey began at the age of five when he encountered Francisco Goya's 'Saturne dévore ses enfants,' which profoundly influenced his worldview. Mbarki has participated in various exhibitions, including his first solo show 'Lettres à Ovide' in 2021 and the 'Cape Town Art Fair' in 2022. His current exhibition, 'A certain distance…,' showcases a series of drawings on recycled paper that evoke spiritual graphic practices and explore the role of art in protection and healing.
