Azzouz El Houri

Azzouz El Houri is a Moroccan composer, luthist, and music researcher who has been instrumental in documenting and preserving Moroccan musical heritage. Residing in Belgium since 1997, he established an Arabic music and lute school in 1998 and has contributed significantly to the field through his writings, including works aimed at teaching Moroccan children abroad. His recent book, 'Les créateurs de la musique marocaine,' chronicles a century of modern Moroccan music, highlighting key artists and their contributions, and serves as a vital resource for understanding the evolution of the national melodic school from the protectorate era to the present.
