Babalwa Mentjies

Babalwa Mentjies is a celebrated vocalist and songwriter, known for her soulful energy and artistic finesse. Originally from Makhanda and based in Khayelitsha, she has gained recognition for blending rich storytelling with deep emotional range. Recently named an Influential Woman of the Year, she leads the concert 'Intsholo Yamanina: Honouring the Melodies of Women in Song' at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, showcasing her talent alongside an exceptional all-female band.
