Bair Batuev
Bair Batuev is a renowned Russian mountaineer and rescuer, celebrated for his remarkable achievements in high-altitude climbing, including being a recipient of the 'Leopardo de las Nieves' award for summiting the five highest peaks of the former Soviet Union. As an independent rescuer with the Buryatia Search and Rescue Service, he played a critical role in rescue operations in the mountains of Central Asia. In August 2023, he was involved in a daring but ultimately perilous helicopter rescue attempt for fellow climber Natalia Nagovitsyna, who was trapped at high altitude on Peak Victoria.
