Bakatin

Viktor Bakatin was a Soviet politician and the Minister of Internal Affairs during the final years of the Soviet Union. He played a significant role in the response to the nationalistic movements within the Soviet republics, including Azerbaijan. His involvement in the military repression during the January 1990 events in Baku has been heavily criticized, as it contributed to the tragic loss of civilian lives during the Soviet crackdown.
