
Bảo Đại
Bảo Đại was the last reigning emperor of Vietnam, known for his rule during a tumultuous period in Vietnamese history, including the French colonial era and the early years of independence. He was born on October 22, 1913, and became emperor in 1926, ruling until 1945 when he abdicated following the August Revolution. After his abdication, he lived in exile in France and returned to Vietnam in the 1940s as a puppet ruler under the French and later the Japanese.
