Bárbara Alvarado

Bárbara Alvarado is a prominent journalist and trans activist from Mexico, who focuses on human rights issues, particularly around LGBTQ+ and indigenous communities. After experiencing isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, she embraced her identity and became actively involved in activism, using her platform to shed light on the struggles faced by marginalized groups. With a degree from UNAM, Alvarado has worked with various media outlets and launched her own project, 'ComuniCC_Arte', aimed at promoting critical discussions about gender diversity. She emphasizes the importance of information as a tool against hate speech and continues to advocate for the rights of trans individuals in a society where they face significant challenges and discrimination.
