Barinem Kiobel

Barinem Kiobel was one of the Ogoni Nine, a group of activists executed in 1995 for opposing the environmental destruction caused by oil companies in Nigeria, particularly Shell. His conviction and execution prompted international outrage and highlighted the struggles for environmental justice in the Niger Delta.
