Bashorun MKO Abiola

Bashorun MKO Abiola was a prominent Nigerian businessman and politician, best known for his role in the 1993 presidential election, which is widely regarded as one of the freest in Nigeria's history. His victory was later annulled by the military government of Ibrahim Babangida, leading to a protracted struggle for democracy in Nigeria. Abiola became a symbol of the fight for democratic rights and was posthumously honored as a martyr for democracy.
