Bassam Khawaja

Bassam Khawaja is the regional deputy director of Human Rights Watch (HRW) and has been an advocate for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Tunisia. He has called for the Tunisian authorities to drop unfounded accusations against humanitarian workers and to recognize their essential role in providing protection and assistance to vulnerable populations.
