Behzad Ghiasi

Behzad Ghiasi is an Iranian environmental scientist and a faculty member at the University of Tehran's Faculty of Environment. He has gained recognition for his innovative approach to wetland restoration, which emphasizes the importance of local community involvement and alternative livelihoods. Recently awarded the UNESCO Young Scientist Award for 2025, Ghiasi advocates for sustainable development through eco-tourism in the Miankaleh biosphere reserve, aiming to enhance public awareness and provide economic opportunities for local residents.
