Béla Viktor János Bartók
Béla Bartók (1881-1945) was a Hungarian composer, ethnomusicologist, and pianist, recognized as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Born in Sânnicolaul Mare, he significantly contributed to the field of music through his research in folk music, particularly in Romanian, Hungarian, and Romani traditions. Bartók's works include notable collections of folk songs and compositions that blend traditional melodies with modern classical elements. After emigrating to the United States in 1940, he continued to compose and teach until his death from leukemia in New York in 1945.
