Benson Okwaro

Benson Okwaro is the Secretary General of the Communication Workers Union of Kenya (COWU), and he has been a prominent figure in advocating for the rights of postal workers in Kenya. Recently, he has been in the news for leading a campaign against the Kenya Postal Workers' prolonged unpaid salaries, which have not been disbursed for seven months. Okwaro has expressed the urgency of the situation, emphasizing that the union is prepared to initiate a nationwide strike if the government does not address the outstanding wages and statutory deductions totaling over Sh1.5 billion by the deadline set for October 26, 2025.
