Berhane Asfaw

Berhane Asfaw is a pioneering Ethiopian palaeoanthropologist who returned to Ethiopia in the late 1980s to establish the country's first laboratory for studying human fossils. He has played a critical role in transforming Ethiopia into a hub for palaeoanthropological research, enabling local scholars to study and preserve the extensive fossil record of human evolution found within the country.
