Bernie Moreno Mejía is a Colombian-American politician and businessman serving as a Republican senator for Ohio since 2024. He has been an advocate for addressing the issues of drug trafficking and violence associated with Colombian criminal organizations. Recently, he proposed to the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, that several Colombian groups, including the 'Clan del Golfo', 'Pachencas', and dissidents of 'Calarcá', be designated as foreign terrorist organizations due to their violent activities and connections to international drug trafficking.
