Bert Merci

Bert Merci is a professor at Ghent University in Belgium, specializing in fluid dynamics and fire safety. He has contributed significantly to the field of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and its applications in understanding complex fire phenomena. Recently, he has been involved in evaluating the validity of simulation methods and software, such as the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), for analyzing the causes of a fireball incident in a train accident in Greece, highlighting the uncertainties associated with such assessments.
