Bev Lawton is a distinguished New Zealand general practitioner and women's health advocate, renowned for her pivotal role in transforming women's healthcare in the country. As a co-founder of the Wellington Menopause Clinic and director of Te Tātai Hauora o Hine, Lawton has been instrumental in addressing inequalities in healthcare, particularly for Māori and Pacific women. She played a significant role in the rollout of the HPV vaccine and the introduction of HPV self-testing as a primary method for cervical screening, making New Zealand the first high-income country to adopt this approach.
