Bih Liu-ing

Bih Liu-ing is a former superintendent of Chung Shan Medical University Hospital who has advocated for the practice of Voluntary Stopping of Eating and Drinking as an alternative to assisted dying, which remains illegal. Despite her efforts to promote this method as a means for patients to die with dignity, she has faced limited support from the medical community due to the challenging nature of self-enforced fasting.
