Birgit Tognella-Geertsen

Birgit Tognella-Geertsen is a Swiss politician and member of the Social Democratic Party (SP), currently serving as a cantonal councilor in Zurich. She has been a vocal advocate for inclusive education, recently co-initiating a popular initiative aimed at promoting integrative schooling in the face of increasing skepticism and criticism from its opponents. Tognella-Geertsen argues that challenges within the educational system should not be blamed on integration policies, and instead calls for more flexible support for teachers and students in regular classrooms.
