Bjarke Stenbæk Kristensen is a Danish-Swedish author, illustrator, animator, and designer born in 1985. Raised in a collective near Århus, Denmark, he now resides in Malmö, Sweden. After studying at the design school in Kolding and Konstfack in Stockholm, he has worked on various creative projects, including designing fonts for Roy Andersson's film 'A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence' and creating animations for the Royal Danish Theatre. He made his picture book debut in 2024 with 'Ålens nyckel', which received critical acclaim. His second book, 'Biografen vid världens ände', is set to be released soon. Recently, he was awarded the Lennart Hellsing Scholarship, recognizing his unique storytelling style that blends everyday thoughts with existential themes, mirroring the playful yet profound approach of the beloved Swedish children's author.
