Bjarkey Olsen Gunnarsdóttir is a former Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries in Iceland and a member of the Left-Green Movement. She served as a parliamentarian from 2013 to 2023, representing the Northeast constituency, and was the leader of her party's parliamentary group from 2017 to 2021. Educated as a primary school teacher, she has worked in both primary and secondary education. In April 2024, she briefly held the ministerial position before the government fell in October of the same year. Recently, she was appointed as the head of the social services department in Fjallabyggð, following an application process that included five candidates.
