Boabdil el Chico
Boabdil el Chico, also known as Abu Abdallah Muhammad XII, was the last Nasrid ruler of Granada, who reigned during a tumultuous period marked by the Reconquista. He is best remembered for his surrender of Granada to the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella, in 1492, which marked the end of Muslim rule in Spain. His reign was characterized by political instability and internal strife, ultimately leading to the fall of the last Muslim stronghold in the Iberian Peninsula. Boabdil's legacy is often romanticized, particularly with the poignant narrative of his lamentation over the loss of his kingdom, symbolizing the end of an era.
