Bob Furness

Bob Furness is an emeritus professor at the University of Glasgow and an expert on marine ecology. He played a significant role in recommending fishing closures to help protect the African penguin population in South Africa. Following the recent agreement on no-fishing zones, he cautioned that while this is a positive step, other pressures on the penguin population must also be addressed to ensure their survival.
