Bode Shobayo

Bode Shobayo is a prominent figure in the field of public health, having served as the head of Research, Innovation, and Development at the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL). He is recognized for his contributions to the advancement of Liberia's capacity to detect and characterize pathogens following the Ebola outbreak of 2014. Shobayo emphasized the significant progress NPHIL has made in genomic sequencing technology, which has enabled the identification of genetic make-ups of various pathogens, thereby enhancing public health responses in Liberia.
