Winner of the 2024 Guyana Prize for Literature for Best First Book of Poetry, 22-year-old Brandon Singh is an emerging voice in the literary world, encouraging young writers to embrace their unique perspectives and to write boldly and authentically. His award-winning poetry collection, which draws on Guyanese folklore and personal experiences, reflects his belief in the power of words to resonate with others. Born and raised in Industry, East Coast Demerara, Singh is a graduate of Cummings Lodge Secondary School and has recently completed his studies through Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
