
Bruce Edwards Ivins
Bruce Edwards Ivins was a scientist at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases who became the primary suspect in the 2001 anthrax attacks after evidence linked him to the anthrax strain used in the mailings. Following a series of investigations and scrutiny from the FBI, Ivins died by suicide in 2008, shortly before the FBI announced he was the sole perpetrator.
