Bryan Chavarría Irías

Bryan Chavarría Irías was a promising young judoka from Orotina, Alajuela, who tragically passed away at the age of 20 in a motorcycle accident on April 22, 2023. He had been a member of the Costa Rican National Judo Team and was actively training and competing while studying Physical Education in San José. Chavarría's dedication to the sport was evident as he had competed at the Pan American level and earned a bronze medal in a recent regional competition. His untimely death marked a significant loss for the judo community, which was still mourning the recent passing of another young athlete.
