Byron Alcides Berganza

Byron Alcides Berganza is a Guatemalan drug trafficker who has been convicted in the United States multiple times for his role in drug trafficking operations. He was initially incarcerated in 2003 and released in 2015 after a plea agreement. However, in 2021, he was arrested again and extradited to the U.S., where he received a 22-year sentence for leading a major drug trafficking organization. In August 2023, he sought a reduction of his sentence due to health issues, claiming to suffer from various medical conditions, but the court denied his request, stating that his ailments did not constitute a terminal illness.
