Byron Pérez is a former Guatemalan football player who represented his national team for over 20 years. He is best known for his significant contributions to the Guatemala U-23 team, which achieved a historic bronze medal at the 1983 Pan American Games in Caracas. Pérez participated in three World Cup qualifying campaigns: Mexico 1986, Italy 1990, and the United States 1994, with his most notable performance being in the 1986 qualifiers under coach Dragoslav Sekularac. He also competed in the 1988 Seoul Olympics, where he played against teams like Italy and Zambia. In domestic football, he had a successful career with Comunicaciones, winning seven national league titles, and briefly played for Municipal before joining the Leones Negros de la Universidad de Guadalajara.
