Byron Ricardo Ruiz Ruiz
Byron Ricardo Ruiz Ruiz was a Honduran drug trafficker who gained notoriety for his involvement in international cocaine trafficking operations. In March 2018, he was arrested in Guatemala and subsequently extradited to the United States, where he faced serious charges including conspiracy to traffic cocaine and possession of high-caliber firearms. After initially pleading not guilty in May 2019, he later accepted a plea deal, resulting in a reduced sentence of five years in prison. Following his release, Ruiz attempted to return to Guatemala, but his past caught up with him as he was killed by armed assailants under circumstances still being investigated.
