Campo Elías Delgado
Campo Elías Delgado was a Colombian war veteran who became infamous for committing one of the worst mass murders in Colombian history on December 4, 1986. Originating from Chinácota, Santander, he had a tumultuous family background marked by violence and tragedy. After serving 13 years in the U.S. Army, where he earned the Green Beret and received honors for his bravery in Vietnam, he returned to Colombia. His violent outburst began with the murder of his mother and escalated into a massacre at the Pozzetto restaurant, resulting in the deaths of 29 people. This horrific event has since been the subject of literature and film, including Mario Mendoza's novel 'Satanás' and the Netflix series 'Estado de Fuga 1986.'
