Carla Costa Ferreira

Carla Costa Ferreira is a notable figure in the Portuguese wine industry, known for founding the winery Conceito in the Douro Superior region. Born in Luanda, she developed a passion for the Douro region during childhood vacations. After returning to Portugal post-25 de Abril, she inherited 24 hectares of vineyard land from her family and began planting her first vines in the early 1980s. Under her leadership, Conceito has expanded to 97 hectares and is now embarking on a new chapter, focusing on innovative winemaking and enotourism.
