Carlos Cárdenas Zepeda

Carlos Cárdenas Zepeda was a Nicaraguan lawyer and opposition figure known for his active participation in the national dialogue aimed at resolving the political crisis in Nicaragua that began in 2018. He was reportedly detained by the Sandinista police and had previously faced multiple arrests due to his political activities. His death while in custody, which occurred after being missing for 15 days, has raised serious concerns about human rights violations under the government of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
