Carlos the Jackal
Carlos the Jackal, born Ilich Ramírez Sánchez in 1949, is a Venezuelan terrorist and international fugitive known for his involvement in numerous deadly attacks during the 1970s and 1980s. Notoriously connected to various leftist and revolutionary movements, he gained infamy for orchestrating bombings and kidnappings across Europe and the Middle East. His most infamous act was the 1975 OPEC conference hostage crisis in Vienna. Captured in 1994, he was tried in France for several murders and is currently serving life imprisonment.
