Carlos Vidal Martin da Silva

Carlos Vidal Martin da Silva was a 52-year-old lieutenant colonel in the Polícia Militar (Military Police) of Brazil. He was tragically killed during an attempted robbery in Jardim América, Rio de Janeiro. Despite his extensive training and experience, he was shot in the chest while trying to react to the armed assailants as he left a commercial establishment. His death is a somber reminder of the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in Brazil. He leaves behind two daughters.
