Carmen Giménez

Carmen Giménez, a 23-year-old resident of Cuenca, has recently achieved her dream of becoming a preschool teacher, a significant accomplishment given the challenges faced by the Romani community in Spain. Despite experiencing prejudice during her education, including discouraging remarks from a philosophy teacher, she persevered through difficult times, including repeating her final year of high school. Carmen is proud to be the first in her family to attend university and advocates for educational reforms to improve opportunities for Romani youth, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and representation in education.
