Carmen Granados

Carmen Granados (1915-1999), known as the 'Alma Nacional' of Costa Rica, was a beloved folklorist, humorist, composer, and radio personality. She created iconic characters that resonated with Costa Ricans and became a significant cultural figure. Her contributions to the arts were recognized posthumously when she was declared Benemérita de las Artes Patrias by the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica.
