Carmona Reyes, aged 33, lived in Pavas, San José, and had a lengthy criminal background with 15 police records dating back to 2014, which included charges for drug possession, attempted homicide, and damage to property. He was also a victim in a recent double homicide incident in Cartago, where he was shot multiple times after losing control of his motorcycle while evading attackers.
