Carol Teepa

Carol Teepa is a key figure in the Tūhoe community, known for her role as a mother and whānau leader. Together with her husband, John Rangikapua Teepa, she has raised six children and has provided a loving home for many others through whāngai adoption. The Teepas have been actively involved in sustainable farming, contributing to an award-winning organic dairy cooperative managed by the Tataiwhetu Trust on John’s ancestral land. Their commitment to their family and community is reflected in their efforts to restore their environment and support the younger generation, embodying the spirit of resilience and kinship within the Tūhoe people.
