Catarina Eufémia

Catarina Eufémia was a Portuguese agricultural worker and a symbol of resistance against the Estado Novo regime. She was tragically murdered in 1954 during a strike for better working conditions, and her death became a rallying point for leftist movements in Portugal. Her legacy is commemorated annually by the Communist Party of Portugal (PCP), which honors her memory and the struggles of rural workers against oppression.
